Review of Hit the Spot Season 1 (2023 TV Series):

I desperately want to talk about this drama with someone!

I wasn’t sure if I would like or watch this drama when I saw the trailer, but I’m glad I did. The intimate moments are so very much positioned and elegantly finished. The female gaze takes a MASTER class in the final scene of episode 4. I felt like I was watching a genuinely cozy and groundbreaking second rather than only an intimate moment, assuming that checks out.

Two women are the focus of the narrative: one, Min Na, is pursuing sex rather than love, and the other, Hee Jae, is emerging from a five-year relationship without love. It is the responsibility of the two women to host a podcast about sex in which they discuss topics and perspectives with their listeners. I love the premise, but I don’t think anyone coming out of a long-term relationship or someone who has been in a long-term relationship can truly empathize with Hee Jae and understand how she feels when she realizes that her partner was selfish and that their relationship was one-sided. I love how Min Na shows a woman taking control of her sex life and going after what and who she wants safely. I additionally like how the creator, In Chan, discusses sex in the time of social removing and how as people we long for contact.

As of this composition, I’ve simply watched up to episode 4 however I’m trusting they keep on pushing the subject of sound sex among couples and accomplices and to show that sex is nothing to be embarrassed about.

Update as of Episode 5 and 6: Okay, I adore this show! The male leads are strolling green banners. The adorablely cringy scene of Hee Jae chasing In Chan to become FWB (Friends with Benefits) I like how the man wants to love and not just have sex, which is a reverse role. In Chan is truly showing Hee Jae that he needs to date her and fall head over heels not simply have intercourse with her.

Dr. Cha’s attraction to Min Na is unexpectedly adorable. Her backstory broke my heart. I dare say this show is transforming into a recuperating dramatization.
