What I liked about this newest Vivamax title is that it’s not only different because of it being a sport movie, but it’s also special as it empowers its audience, especially the women. The movie has a message that even if you are small, you can beat someone bigger than you, as long as you are in the right mindset. The film’s storytelling is excellent. Its story is easy to follow. It’s simple. There is enough action and mystery to keep the viewer hooked. You’ll also be rooting for the lead. The main character Elise is well written. I think we root more for Elise’s character because of the skill of Angela Morena’s portrayal. She showed here the struggle of a woman who was a victim of sexual assault and how she gradually rose through BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). . The role of damsel in distress then suddenly boom is perfect for Angela! He also never wore the prince in shining armor because he can defend himself. Jiad was convincing as the baddie of the show, but he’s also successful in showing layers of his character. Yuki was a big surprise here, he was game in the sensual scenes and stood up to being the leading man who is a black belter martial artist. Overall, BJJ was a good surprise. This title from Vivamax is rare. It’s leaning more towards its female audience as it tackles self-defense, woman empowerment and self-discovery. The actors here are good at portraying their well-written characters. Director Linnet just showed us that Vivamax can also make a kick-ass movie for women.
