Long Lost (2018) Movie Review:

This isn’t a genre I’m generally drawn to, which is why it’s not 10/10 for me. But as a fan of film and filmmaking, this was a genuine joy to watch. The use of tension through various elements – camera angles, music, disorientation, character interaction – is exceptional.

From the opening scene through the end the tension builds to a point where you can’t believe it hasn’t been allowed to abate, and then keeps building. It’s a beautifully shot film, as well. Framing and composition of each shot are pieced together in such a way as to make the viewer feel unsettled – almost dirty – for eavesdropping on the activities of the characters. It’s a must watch for anyone who appreciates the art of filmmaking.
